About Viv Slater

I’m fascinated in how the body moves, and in keeping your particular body moving well.
I’ve done this job for 15 years, alongside NHS roles as a Health Coach in Bucks GP practices, a Physiotherapy Assistant in the hydrotherapy pool and gym at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, and in cancer care wellbeing and physical rehab at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford.

I have a unique blend of skills to get you moving well. I give advice, ideas and exercises. I do sports massage and other manual therapy techniques to relieve pain and heal injuries. But what makes me really different from other therapists is that I put you in the driving seat. I don’t just tell you what to do and send you off with a sheet of exercises. I ask you what amount of time, what time of day and which days per week that you can devote to stretches, exercises and the activities you like doing, and we build a movement plan that is carefully tailored to suit you and your lifestyle. That way, you stick to the exercise plan because you chose it – you feel invested in making it work.
